Körber acquires the mail and parcel business of Siemens Logistics
Hamburg, Germany, February 9, 2022 /CNW/ — International technology group Körber has signed an agreement to acquire the global mail and parcel business of Siemens Logistics. Siemens Logistics provides cutting-edge mail and parcel technology and advanced software for the world’s leading logistics providers. With this acquisition, Körber significantly completes its supply chain offering.
As a leading supplier in Europe with a strong market presence North America and a foothold in the growing Chinese market, Siemens Logistics’ mail and parcels business is ideally positioned for further growth. The company provides mail and parcel technology and fully automated solutions for digitized mail and parcel processing for the world’s leading logistics companies. With around 1,200 employees, the mail and parcel business of Siemens Logistics generates an annual turnover of around 500 million euros.
The rise of e-commerce and changing consumer behavior continue to drive demand for automation and digitalization throughout the supply chain, and particularly in parcel processing. Parcel volumes are increasing rapidly. At the same time, there is an increasing need to cope with higher delivery demands and increased pressure for shorter transport times which the courier and parcel companies of Siemens Logistics are addressing with a range of products and solutions to support hubs and end-to-end network processes. . The parcel automation market is expected to experience double-digit annual growth in the coming years. Siemens Logistics’ mail and parcels business is uniquely positioned to benefit from these global trends and continued market growth, as well as Körber’s existing strong supply chain business.
