ICC announces appointment of senior supply chain executive to lead Digital Standards Initiative – ICC
The International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) today announced the appointment of Pamela Mar as the incoming Managing Director of its Digital Standards Initiative (DSI).
Pamela Mar will join ICC in early September from her current role as Executive Vice President – Knowledge and Applications with Fung Group, Hong Kong.
She brings over 20 years of experience working in global supply chains and industry on sustainability, technology and global policy issues – having held positions based in Hong Kong, Shenzhen and Geneva. Ms. Mar was named to the Eco-Business Sustainability A-List in 2019 and has published and spoken widely on corporate sustainability and supply chain issues.
Ms. Mar will lead the continued growth of ICC’s global DSI program from its hub in Singapore – working with industry, governments and leading standards organizations around the world to accelerate the adoption of digital business processes, technologies enabling and regulatory environments.
ICC Secretary General John WH Denton AO said: “Following an extensive global search, we are delighted to appoint Pamela to lead the work of our Digital Standards Initiative. Her background, extensive international experience and commitment to ICC’s institutional mission make her the ideal person to accelerate our work in the digitalization of commerce space.”
Ms Mar added: “Trade is a proven way to create jobs, empower people and generate the resources needed for sustainable inclusive growth, and digitalization could amplify this many times over. ICC DSI is uniquely positioned to help bridge the digital trade divide wherever it exists, creating opportunities for both the public good and the private sector.
