For Amazon, North America accounts for 60% of total sales, according to financial results reported in April, its first quarterly loss since 2015. A handful of countries other than the United States, Canada and Mexico together account for roughly almost 25% of the Seattle-based e-commerce major’s international business. India is part of this pie of international small businesses. Amid global economic turmoil and slowing pandemic-fueled online shopping growth, industry watchers are wondering if Amazon could reduce its international exposure in foreign countries where losses are piling up.
